Hmm, a lot has happened since I posted last, but I have a pretty good excuse...we had Baby Brandt!! Not sure how long we will call him Baby Brandt, but Micah and me seem to say his name that way pretty often. :)
I thought I would share just a little about his birth story. Brandt was due December 9th, but decided to make his appearance on November 23rd (37 wks and 5 days)...both of my babies have been born by 38 weeks..guess that is my pattern. Brandt was a very healthy 8 lbs and 5 oz. and 19.5" long.
I started having contractions around 2 am but they weren't regular so I didn't wake Josh up. However, I couldn't go back to sleep and just kept timing them. By 6:30 am Josh woke up and I told him that I thought I was having real contractions, but wasn't for sure and that I would call him at work if I needed him. Needless to say, Josh refused to leave me to go to work :) By 8 am the contractions still weren't regular but were causing me to not breathe when they came...I told Josh that we needed to go to the hospital asap by that point! I actually hurried upstairs and got Micah's big sister shirt out and got her dressed (priorities right?)
We dropped Micah off at Josh's mothers work and headed to the hospital. We checked in and I was hurting really bad by this point. I asked for a epidural immediately, but they still have to ask you about 45 minutes worth of questions before they would get the dr. They hooked up the monitors and told me they would check my cervix as soon as they finished getting all the info they needed from us. 45 minutes later, they checked me and I was at 8 cm. (I thought I was going to pass out when she told me that) Within about 5 minutes, the anesthesiologist (probably spelled wrong) and delivery nurses were in my room. There was definately a sense of urgency. lol.
While they were giving me my epidural, they kept telling me that it probably wasn't going to catch up in time and that I would probably feel everything. Luckily, my water never broke and I actually sat at 10 cm for about a hour without my water breaking, which allowed for the epidural to take. Praise the LORD!!! About a hour later, our sweet son made his appearance into the world. I couldn't ask for a better baby! We were able to go home the next day, on Thanksgiving! We had so much to thank our Lord for that day :)
This pic was actually take a few days before Brandt was born, and we definately had a bigger belly with the second child :)
Going home!
Micah was a sheep in the church nativity!! Cutest sheep I've ever seen! I just love her so much.
We bought Micah a dollhouse for Christmas! It was a huge hit. It has a elevator on it and Micah keeps calling it a "alligator" - so cute! We had a great Christmas with our families, celebrating our Saviors birth!
Here is my little man at 1 month. I can't believe we have already made through a month as a family of four. I can't wait to see what God has planned for this sweet little guy!
Sorry for such a long post, I just had to catch up on everything!!
